Wild Cordyceps is collected in the Himalayas at altitudes ranging from 14,000 feet to 17,000 feet . Bhutanese Wild Cordyceps is collected early each summer . In order to support sustainability of the wild herb, it is illegal in Bhutan to collect Cordyceps at any other time. It is illegal for non-Bhutanese to collect it, and quantity collected is strictly regulated. From tinctures and capsules to powders and teas, you can find cordyceps in a variety of forms.
They include compounds with antibiotic, antiviral, and antifungal qualities, along with other compounds that the fungus produces to protect itself from competing bacteria and microbes within its environment. All PURICA medicinal mushrooms are “full spectrum” and use elements from the entire life cycle of the mushroom. Since its popularity has increased worldwide on the natural health market, attempts to artificially cultivate cordyceps from the mycelium and the fruit bodies have been made over the last 20 years. Cordyceps sinensis has been used in modern times for the treatment of lipid-related disorders. A summary of the anti-lipidemic effects of Cordyceps sinensis is shown in Figure 2.
Similar reports are also available from Nepal.[9–11] An attempt was made to evaluate the strength of the folk claims by counting the number of users for particular illnesses. Most traditional healers and elderly people use it to increase longevity and cure erectile dysfunction. C. Sinensis is an annual Ascomycetes fungus closely related to the mushroom. Although not actually a mushroom taxonomically, it has been described as an exotic medicinal mushroom in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine.
The crude extract and partially purified fractions of C. Sinensis inhibit the generation of superoxide anion and release of elastase. Further, it was revealed that five constituents, cordysinins A-E accounted for these actions (Yang et al., 2011). The treatment of macrophages with diverse concentrations of C. Fruiting bodies has potent suppressive effects on the production of these inflammatory mediators as evident by LPS-induced NO production, TNF-α, and IL-6 secretion (Jo et al., 2010). A cordyceps supplement is a mushroom supplement from real mushrooms.
One is a type of yeast called Candida auris. Which is not to say that humans can’t be infected by organisms that typically infect other species. The ants die within six hours of infection, and then two to three days later, a fungal stalk emerges from the neck. Then, mushrooms for adhd start raining down again and the cycle repeats. Cordyceps’ official name is Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, and yes, scientists call it the “zombie-ant fungus.” It doesn’t spell the end of humankind, but it certainly does spell a grisly end for the creatures it infects.
The shepherds started to consume it themselves and found that it was remarkably invigorating. Traditionally, they believed it to be a profound aphrodisiac. When combined with both Jing and Qi tonic herbs, Cordyceps has a broad, all-encompassing power to improve human functioning. There is a specific type of Qi known as “Protective Qi” that flows in the subcutaneous layer of the skin and provides energy to the skin to respond appropriately to changing environmental factors.
Cordyceps mushroom extracts may interact with anti-coagulant, immunosuppressant, hormone replacement, and prednisolone medications. One of the unique things about Cordyceps militaris is that it produces the compound cordycepin (3′-deoxyadenosine) in much higher amounts when compared to Cordyceps sinensis. Cordyceps militaris mushrooms ©NammexSince they are derived from the mushroom , there are much higher levels of the important beta-glucans.

Micronization is a newer technology that unlocks “all the ingredients” in the mushroom, converting them to tiny, highly absorbable particles. These active ingredients are then easily absorbed by the body to exert their potent health-promoting benefits. The HPLC-MS results showed that adenosine, mannitol, and cordycepin could be detected in cultivated C.
A total of 8 samples were divided into three types . Sinensis (B, C1-C4) was obtained through cultivation and inoculation by us. All the strains were the same Hirsutella sinensis, which were reserved separately for the next cultivation. The cultivation conditions of the strains and inoculated C. Sinensis was collected from the Pan’an village, Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China (102°1′-102°59′ E, 30°35′-31°43′ N), at an altitude of 3800–4500 m.
Sinensis-induced steroidogenesis in primary rat adrenal cell cultures. Sinensis also triggers the steroidogenesis process in primary mouse Leydig cell and induces dose-dependent apoptosis in MA-10 mouse Leydig tumor cells (Leu et al., 2011; Pan et al., 2011). Sinensis has been reported by Huang et al. to induce the expression of steroidogenic acute regulatory protein, a critical protein for steroidogenesis, in MA-10 mouse Leydig tumor cells. The same group further extended their studies (Huang et al., 2001) for C. Sinensis-induced steroidogenesis in normal Leydig cells and reported that it had different effects on hCG-stimulated steroidogenesis between normal vs. tumor cells.
DNAs were isolated from 11 raw Chinese cordyceps samples and 5 health-care products containing Chinese cordyceps, according to the labels. Then, the duplex PCR assays were performed in triplicate using the obtained DNAs as templates. The genomic DNA isolated from the Chinese cordyceps reference material was used as the positive control. Sterile water was used as the negative control. As shown in Fig.3, both target amplicons were simultaneously detected down to the 32 pg level in all the parallel reactions. The amplicons could not be detected in all the reactions at a lower template amount.
